1st Public-Private Forum on Beyond SDGs Kicks Off in Osaka!
Looking toward the post-2030 future society: Launching new proposals and collaboration from Japan
As the 2030 deadline for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) approaches, international discussions targeting the next era are beginning in countries around the world. In light of this trend, diverse stakeholders across Japan have joined forces to establish the “Public Private Forum on Beyond SDGs” in June 2025—a new platform for dialogue aimed at shaping the future society through practical perspectives.
The 1st meeting of the forum will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Umeda Sky Building in Osaka. Government officials, business leaders, researchers, civil society organizations, youth, and other key actors will gather under one roof to exchange views on the challenges and possibilities facing society beyond 2030.

Looking ahead, the 2nd meeting is scheduled for FY2025 at the United Nations University in Tokyo. In FY2026, a forum will summarize outcomes and recommendations based on discussions up to that point, aiming to present international visions beyond 2030 to the global community in 2027.
